A. Roy Bowden

Relationships Consultant - Supervisor

Referrals for clients and enquirers

I can refer people to colleagues who offer health related services for people: counselling, relationships, therapy, cultural connections and social services.

My own practice is focused on supervision and mentoring.

I enjoy meeting with practitioners, managers, educators, counsellors, therapists, pastoral care workers, clergy, community facilitators, allied health professionals, psychologists, addiction professionals.

I've practised as a supervisor -mentor since the 1970s. My focus includes an informed consideration of the importance of cultural formation.

The approach is holistic in the sense that the whole of life experience of each person is taken into account. Training in a number of therapeutic and life style theories has been important for me but I prefer to discover the unique story of each individual and build a helping relationship, which I see as the key to effective therapy.

Sometimes a therapeutic 'method' will be helpful but it needs to be offered as part of an integrated approach aligned with the cultural, social and personal situation surrounding each person, family or group.
